Our Twins' hearts stopped around eight weeks. Being given the Memory Box was the biggest turning point for me. I felt it acknowledged the loss - I had something tangible.”
Small Simba Memory Box
Our Small Memory Box is to acknowledge babies under 14 weeks gestation.
We understand how the loss of a baby, even at an early stage of pregnancy can be a very sad time; we understand that the loss of a baby is that of lost hopes and dreams of your future together. The smallest of our Memory Boxes is to show that we care and understand and is something tangible that the hospital staff can give to you, along with any relevant written information they need to share.

The small Memory Box includes the following contents:
- 2 small knitted teddies, all our handmade items are gifted with love by a Simba volunteer
- Small knitted blanket
- Crocheted butterfly
- 2 Butterfly Charms
- Wooden Star - a star to keep plain, to write on, or decorate in any way to bring comfort. You can hang it up and display or keep it safe
- Tealight to enable families to join the Global Wave of Light, held on 15th October each year at 7pm or any time they choose. Our tealight scent, ‘Eternal’, has been specially blended for Simba
- Just to Say card
- Birth Acknowledgement Certificate
- Meaning of Memory Box illustration by Lewis MacKenzie
- Feedback card
- Information leaflet from Scottish Government regarding the Memorial Book of Pregnancy and Baby Loss Prior to 24 Weeks
