Provan Hall Tree of Tranquillity Re-Opening

Thumbnail

We enjoyed glorious sunshine on Saturday morning for our official unveiling of the re-installed Glasgow Tree of Tranquillity.

It was an emotional event as local families gathered at the new, more secure site within the landscaped grounds of Provan Hall.  Poignantly, a butterfly bouquet of colourful flowers was placed at the site of the original Tree which was removed in 2020, after sadly being vandalised several times. Attending the event were the special group of committed parents who form the Volunteer Working Group to reinstall the Tree, along with Trustees and staff from Simba and some of those who had so kindly supported the project to completion.

Simba Vice-Chair of Trustees and Volunteer Working Group Member Heather Lawrence gave a speech thanking everyone for their patience and tenacity involved in making the reinstallation of the Tree possible over the last 4 years.  At Simba, we very much hope that local families will love the space as much as we do and that it will provide a long lasting, peaceful and special place to continue to honour your babies.
