We fell pregnant very quickly after only trying for a short period of time and were over the moon. Unfortunately at our 12 week scan, we were told there was no heartbeat.
Due to lockdown, I was alone in hospital without my fiancé Rob. This was such a difficult time and we really didn’t know who to turn to. After some time we decided to try again but had no luck and were referred for IVF. Once again we were blessed and expecting our rainbow baby. Our pregnancy was normal and we were closely monitored. In November 2022 I went into hospital with reduced movements but they had no concerns, we went home very happy and started to relax and enjoy our pregnancy. We started to buy gifts, clothes and prepare the house ready for our arrival, couldn’t quite believe how lucky we were. However a few days late once again I had reduced movements and visited the hospital, only this time they couldn’t find a heartbeat. Our whole world fell apart, we couldn’t quite believe what was happening.
When we found out we would receive a Simba Memory Box, it brought such comfort as we knew we’d be able to make memories with our little boy Albie when he arrived in the world on 24.11.22. The midwives supported us with this as we found it very difficult at the time but I’m so glad we now have these to look back on and hold dearly in our heart. Our favourite is the hand and footprints mould. This takes pride of place in our living room.
